Laut Tawar Lake is a lake located in the Gayo Highlands, Aceh Tengah, (Takengon) Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. The existence of Lake Laut Tawar is the pride of the people of Aceh Tengah (Takengon). This lake is a natural attraction visited by many domestic and foreign tourists.



This quiet lake is located east of the City Takengon, in the Gayo highlands (1,250 meters above sea level), Lut Tawar District, Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. This freshwater lake sea is the largest lake in the province of Aceh with an area of ​​5472 hectares, about 17 km length and width of 5.5 km.

Access to this Lake Laut Tawar (Takengon) more easily reached through the City Bireun. There is a small terminal elf hangout special transportation to Takengon.
